I know that I am a bit late in posting this week's film of the week, but I am sure that you will forgive me. I could have gone with the much more family orientated MARLEY AND ME as my Friday the 13th recommendation, but I haven't. Istead, I have opted for BRONSON, a new British film from the folks at Vertigo Films, revolving around one of the Uk's most notorious criminals, Charles Bronson.
Vertigo Films will release the movie in Spring 2009
BRONSON is the evolutionary journey of Mickey Peterson into Britain’s most notorious and dangerous living prisoner CHARLES BRONSON. Originally sentenced to 7 years in prison for burglary, Charles Bronson has been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. Charlie has forged an outrageous reputation through violence, hostage taking and rooftop protests to become a notorious figure in the British public’s conscious.
Taking the title role of BRONSON will be Bafta nominated actor Tom Hardy (he who was last seen in Guy Ritchie's ROCKNROLLA).
I have heard some really good stuff about the flick, and really good word of mouth regarding Hardy's method performance, which is why I am making BRONSON this week's ReelShow movie of the week, and my film of choice to be lining up to see later on tonight.
