It has always been a dream of mine to get my name up there in bright lights. When I was a kid I always wanted to be an actor, director, or a film producer – anything, just to have my name associated with a motion picture. I aspired to be like my childhood heroes, Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox or Die Hard's Bruce Willis, director John Woo or Steven Spielberg or producer Jerry Bruckheimer or the bearded one, Joel Silver. 31 long years have gone by in my life and that moment is about to be realised and as of last Monday evening I not only had it confirmed that I was going to have my name included in the end credits for an upcoming film, but I was also going to get my very own page on the hallowed Internet Movie Database. That's right, I have indeed made it and after all of these years, I have truly been recognised for my contribution to film. Somebody has said 'thanks,' or more specifically, 'special thanks.'
The credit in question is for an upcoming movie that you may have read about before here on Reel Show – a film that one of my good friends has co-produced and starred in, the horror flick Dark Woods. I have received thanks from the filmmakers, thanks that I don't really think that I deserve, but I will run with it and thank them in return, not for thanking me, but for giving me a reason to show off and write this blog post and tell all of my friends that I too am amongst great company of thousands of filmmakers and actors and actresses on said IMDB and in the 'fraternity.'
I just hope that it makes the final cut.
I can tell you're itching to see said credit, so more my IMDB page, click it here.
